We need your help to "get out the vote" for the upcoming April 16 and May 14 shareholder meetings. At the first vote ever on this unprecedented proposal, a surprising 28% and 27% of shareholders voted for genocide-free investing! We need your help to increase those numbers in April and May |
Proxies
have been mailed and votes are now being cast
by shareholders of 19 Fidelity mutual funds. The proposal before these shareholders is whether the funds should avoid
investments in companies that substantially contribute to genocide. Fidelity recommends a vote AGAINST this
proposal.
Please help to get the word out to the
hundreds of thousands of people who own shares in these 19 funds. Many people are unaware of
the shareholder proposal and will miss their chance to vote. See below for ways you can
help.
Also, if you are a Fidelity customer in any
of the relevant funds, we urgently need your
input. We are receiving
reports from shareholders who have had difficulty voting. Fidelity's lawyers have assured us that
the problems have been addressed but we need you to confirm whether this is the
case.
If you have voted, or tried to vote, please click
here to fill out a brief survey or email us at info@InvestorsAgainstGenocide.org.
If you have not yet tried to vote, please do so and then fill out the survey or
contact us. Click here for current voting instructions.
We also need all supporters to help us "get out the vote." Here's
how you can help:
Write a letter to the editor of your local paper. Most local weekly newspapers (not the large
metropolitan dailies) will publish all letters to the editor received from town
residents. You can easily find the email
address by searching for your paper on the Internet. You will most likely find instructions on
submitting a letter to the editor in the "Opinion" section. To make it easy, we've drafted a sample
letter. Click here for a
letter you can just cut and paste into an email and send to your hometown
paper.
Tell your friends. Click here for an
email you can cut and paste to send to your contact list.
Make a donation. We have the
opportunity to send a mailing to targeted Fidelity shareholders but lack the
necessary funding. We know that once
ordinary investors become aware that their savings are being used to fund
genocide, they will vote overwhelmingly in favor of genocide-free
investing. A mailing to shareholders would
allow us to directly reach those with the power to vote. We need to raise $20,000 over the next two
weeks to finance this mailing. We are a
volunteer-based organization so 100% of your contribution will go directly to
voter outreach. Click here to contribute.
Thank you for your ongoing support of genocide-free investing.
With appreciation,
